Apple is forcing users into the iCloud with iOS 11. This is a total nogo. And the way this is currently solved is embarrassing for apple considering they claim to respect users privacy decisions. When signing in with an apple id, iCloud automatically becomes enabled - without asking the user and no way of opting out. Then a ton of iCloud services are enabled by default like contacts, calendar, location sharing. As a user who cares about their data and privacy I find this highly bewildering.
How dare apple to enable upload of all my personal contacts *without* even asking my consent? Logging out of the apple id then disables icloud. But also prevents the new 2 factor authentication mechanism to be used. This is not at all implemented in a user- and privacy-friendly way. I wish apple had done a more thorough job.
