Hi Is there a way of disabling automatic spell check for the comment section only, while still keeping it active for the actual contents of the document? I'm running Word 2016 on a Mac and I have gone through all the settings but couldn't find any way to do this. It is especially annoying since I often collaborate with people and we use three different languages in our communication, which results in our comments being underlined in red because of the spell checker. This issue doesn't exist in PowerPoint, for example, where the implementation of the comment section seems to be much better.
Anyway, going through each and every comment to mark them in their respective language is cumbersome, Cmd+A selects either only the contents of the document or the contents of an individual comment (so there's no way to select all comments) and disabling spell check in general doesn't cut it for me - I still need to make sure that my documents contain no typos. Thanks for your feedback! Hi, Based on my knowledge, there is no option to only disable the spell check for comment section in Word 2016 for Mac.

If you read the previous tutorial on creating semi-transparent text boxes, learning to create semi-transparent images is not too terribly different.

Generally, if you create a document that contains text in different languages and want to use the appropriate dictionaries to check the spelling of each language that you include. In your scenario, please try the following steps as a workaround: 1.Select the text that's written in another language. 2.On the Tools menu, click Language. 3.In the Mark selected text as box, select the language that you want, and then click OK. 4.After you mark the text, check the spelling in your document. When the spelling checker encounters the marked text, it uses the specified language dictionary to check the text. Then, the spelling checker returns to the default language dictionary to check the rest of the document.
